What to visit

Beyond the classical destinations of the most important cities of art which surround us, in our immediate vicinity it is possible to visit countless smaller villages which are without doubt rich with notable artistic and cultural interest; amongst others, we draw your attention to the town of Peccioli. There is the Etruscan Museum and, in its surrounding countryside, the Etruscan excavations of the Ortaglia sanctuary, dating back to the ninth-second century BC, the very particular Museum of Russian Icons and, for the pleasure of the little ones, the prehistoric park, among the largest and most beautiful in Europe.

In the village of Libbiano there is the Astronomical Observatory of Galileo Galieli, in the town of Montefoscoli, The Museum of Peasant Civilization, in the village of San Gervasio, The Museum of Workers and Rural Civilization; in the town of Capannoli in the splendid Villa Baciocchi, in late Baroque style, it is possible to visit both the Zoological Museum and the Archaeological Museum. .

There are countless itineraries of naturalistic interest which find themselves in harmony within our hills, allowing a taste of the beauty of the place and, furthermore, whenever you raise your eyes to the sky, you will see enchanting bell towers and a surprising richness of churches from across ten centuries.

In the course of a year in the town of Peccioli, there are many traditional events, with food festivals, local celebrations linked with theatre events, cultural events of great variety and of a high standard of theatre, music, dance, cinema (with special initiatives for children).
